About Mike

Mike Delaney is a Hibernian from Washington, D.C. and is running for National Director of the Ancient Order of Hibernians, the oldest and largest Irish-American Catholic organization in the United States, at the AOH National Convention in St. Louis, MO.

As the grandson of Galway immigrants and as a local historian in Washington, DC, Mike knows that honoring our heritage is crucial to preserving our united story. He has strongly promoted partnerships with other Irish and Irish-American organizations, as Immigration and Anti-Defamation Chairman for the DC AOH, as a member of the Emerald Society for the Federal Law Enforcement Agencies, as a volunteer for Irish Charities of Maryland, and as a member of the DC St. Patrick’s Day Parade Committee.

As a National Director, Mike will lead and coordinate a National Program of the AOH. These programs include: Catholic Action, promoting faith in the AOH; Pro-Life, recognizing the dignity of human existence at all stages of natural life; Immigration, to encourage an equitable American immigration policy for the Irish; and Project St. Patrick, providing financial support to those entering religious and ordained life; among many others.
